Inn at the Market, Pike Place Market

Inn at the Market, SeattleRight off First Avenue, mere steps from bustling Pike Place Market, lies a little boutique hotel whose guest rooms locals often mistake for condominiums. It's easy to see why. With just a few small signs and an elegant yet modest lobby tucked past a small courtyard, away from the main road, there is not a single item that screams, "Hotel! Vacancy! Tourists stay here!"

It's like they say, blink and you'll miss it. But trust me, you will not want to.

To have a stylish and cozy inn situated amongst all that is quintessentially Seattle seems almost too good to be true. From the Inn at the Market you can easily walk to watch the famous fishmongers play catch with salmon, order a latte from the original Starbucks, pick up a bursting bouquet of fresh flowers, or nibble on a pastry from one of the many bakeries located in Pike Place. The 70 guest rooms vary in size, but all are extremely comfortable and meticulously maintained. Room service comes from two nearby restaurants, Bacco and Cafe Campagne, and includes a variety of fresh squeezed juices and gourmet omelets for breakfast or traditional French bistro entrees for dinner. The huge garden deck off the hotel's fifth floor offers one of my favorite views in the city. Head there just before sunset with a glass of wine and watch the sun melt into the Olympics. Whether an out-of-towner or native Seattleite, you're sure to find the event spectacular.

Tip: Room 311 has a unique view into the heart of Pike Place Market while rooms 708 and 710 share a large balcony with views of Elliot Bay and make a great choice for couples or groups traveling together.
